Crop Loss: One more Farmer ends life in Nuapada District

Drought-OdishaBhubaneswar, Oct 17: One more farmer allegedly committed suicide in Nuapada district on Saturday due to crop loss.  With this the suicide death by farmers number toll to seven in the state, despite the announcement of the package for drought affected farmers by the state government recently.

According to reports, Gendaram Majhi, a resident of Kulipada village in Nuapada district reportedly committed suicide by consuming  poison. His family members said that he had taken loan for agriculture activities from a private party. But, the less rainfall in the region led to drought like situation in the region affecting kharif crops.
