Cuttack Boy Xerxes, First From Odisha To Enter MTV Roadies

Xerxes Diniar Irani, a 27 year old from Cuttack is the first from the state to qualify for the ‘Culling Round’ of MTV’s reality show Roadies Real Heroes.
Xerxes as a child was very hyperactive and loved spending his days climbing trees, swimming, playing football, basketball or simply venturing out for bike rides. Sports have been in his genes as his father and his “role model”, Diniar Parvez Irani is an Olympian who represented India in basketball in the 1980 Moscow Olympics and 1979 Asian Basketball Championship, Nagoya, Japan. He has been a coach for Sports Authority of India and still continues to promote basketball.

His mother, Gayatri Devi Irani, is a former national-level basketball player as well. Also, few years ago she had trekked to Mount Everest base camp. His sister, Dilnawaz too is a former district-level swimmer with a gold medal. Xerxes has set up eastern India’s first Laser Tag arena in Kolkata and has worked with Decathalon too. In future, he aims to build a sports academy to showcase talents from Odisha.

Odisha News Insight – After qualifying the culling round, Xerxes has increased his training to three times a day. The fitness freak with his positive attitude and patience has already impressed Rannvijay Singh, Neha Dhupia, Nikhil Chinapa and Sandeep Singh. ONI wishes Xerxes good luck!
