Cyclone Roanu takes pity on Odisha, moves towards Bangladesh

Contrary to the expectations, the Cyclone Roanu spared Odisha and moved towards Bangladesh without causing any damage. However, it triggered heavy rains in coastal Odisha, which came as a boon for the people, who were having a tough time due to intense heatwave.

As the cyclonic storm has weakened, it may not cause any damage in Bangladesh too. Rains are expected in West Bengal, Assam, Manipur and Tripura when it crosses over to Bangladesh.

Many parts of Coastal Odisha, including Paradip, Jagatsinghpur, Bhubaneswar, Puri, Cuttack experienced heavy rains in the last 36 hours. Gopalpur in Ganjam too received good rainfall.
