Dharmendra writes Tamar to check false statistics on Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana

ONI Bureau: Expressing concern over false statistics provided by state govt on construction of houses under Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana in rural areas, Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday requested Union Rural Development Minister Narendra Singh Tomar to look into the matter.

In a letter to the Union Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan said that the eyewash being perpetuated by the Govt of Odisha regarding rural housing schemes. During the recent Ratha Jatra at Puri, the Govt came up with misleading advertisements claiming that the State Govt has completed over 17 lakh pucca houses for the rural poor under in past four years under Biju Pucca Ghar ojana (BPGY), a State Govt sponsored scheme.

However, the State Govt’s own Rural Housing  Odisha website states that only 2.8 lakh houses have been built under schemes exclusively sponsored by the State Govt such as BPGY, BPG (Mines) and Nirman Shramik Pucca har Yojana.

Therefore Dharmendra requested Tomar to send a high level inquiry team to probe in this matter.
