Farmer Suicides continue unabated in Bargarh

Insight Bureau: Farmers-suicide cases continue unabated in Odisha with yet one more farmer committed suicide in Bargarh district.

Farmer Brunda Sahoo of Kalapani block in Bargarh district, who had torched his pest affected crops yesterday, commited suicide by consuming poison.

According to reports, Brunda had harvested paddy in over 50 acres of land. But, his crops were damaged by insects, following which he had informed the district administration. But after the district administration failed to respond to his plea, he torched his crops yesterday.
