Former DGP Marik files Rs 50 lakh Defamation Suit against Anadi

Bhubaneswar, Mar 5: Former Director General of Police (DGP) Sanjeev Marik on Friday filed a defamation case against former IG of Police Anadi Sahu for allegedly tarnishing his image by linking him with the arrest of Dhalasamanta brothers.

As per reports, Marik filed a civil defamation case against Anadi Sahu under IPC Section 468 and demanded damages of Rs.50 lakh for tarnishing him image by linking him with the arrested mobsters.

Earlier, he filed a criminal defamation case against former IG of police under IPC Sections, 500, 501 and 502 at the SDJM court in the capital city on March 1.

Notably, on Feb 27, former IG had alleged Marik of having links with Dhalasamanta brothers – Sushant and Sushil Dhalsamant. Anadi also alleged Marik of receiving Rs 7 crore from arrested D-brothers. Marik had told media that the charges leveled against him by Anadi were baseless, wild and fabricated.
