Odisha Council of Ministers approve Rs 94,143 Cr Draft Budget

Odisha-Assembly-Suplmentary-BudgetBhubaneswar, Mar 5: A draft budget allocation worth Rs 94, 143 crores has been approved by the Odisha Council of Minister on Friday for the fiscal year 2016-17. The state budget will be tabled in the assembly by the finance minister on March 18.

As per the draft budget, Rs 48, 261.90 crores have been provisioned for non-plan expenditure while Rs 45,600 crores for plan expenditure. For the central schemes and centrally-sponsored schemes Rs 140 crores and Rs 141 crores were allocated respectively in the draft budget.

The Budget session of Odisha Assembly will start on March 15 while the finance minster will present the state budget on March 18.

The draft budget has given priority to sectors – Agriculture, Infrastructure, Education, Irrigation and Health. For the first time the state government will present the state budget after Union Budget has been presented in the Parliament.
