Ganjam’s Lake All Set For A Makeover

Tampara Lake, a popular tourist destination in Ganjam District is all geared up for a makeover. The Berhampur Development Authority (BeDA) on Friday finalised Rs 8 crore for the makeover.

The makeover will include a jetty, landscape, trekking, second food court, tourist reception centre and an entrance gate near the lake. The infrastructure of the lake was severely damaged during cyclone ‘Phailin’ in October 2013.

Efforts have been undertaken to restore the damage. Tampara Lake will now be a major tourist destination as decided by the state government. Last month, the tourism department had introduced a water-sports facility as a part of the makeover.
