Girl abducted, raped in Kalahandi Dist

An 18-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped by three persons in Odisha’s Kalahandi district, and the accused also filmed the incident and uploaded the video in social media, police said on Friday.

The victim girl lodged an FIR at the Junagarh Police Station of Kalahandi on Friday after the video went viral.

The girl was abducted and raped by the accused on March 31 when she was returning from a local Shani Mandir.

“According to the FIR, three youths abducted the victim last Saturday when she was returning from Shani Mandir near Bhatraguda village and took her to the nearby forest area. They forced her to drink alcohol, gang-raped her and filmed the incident,” said Junagarh police officer Rajendra Kumar Dehuri.

The victim alleged that she did not file complaint earlier as the accused had threatened that they would upload the video in social media. (IANS)
