Hirakud Dam to get second Spillway soon

ONI Bureau:  Hirakud Dam is all set to get its second spillway (gate for release of flood water) as an additional spillway will be constructed near Hirakud dam in Burla of Sambalpur district, Odisha Water Resources Principal Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena informed today.

The spillway will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 500 crore and the project will be completed in three years. This is for the first time in India that an additional spillway is being constructed.
