Jharpara Camp Court extends Abhjit Iyer’s judicial custody by 14 more days

ONI Bureau:   In a big jolt for journalist Abhijit Iyer Mitra, Jharpara Jail camp court today extended judicial custody of Delhi-based journalist by 14 more days. However, the camp court reserved verdict on hearing of Abhijit Iyer’s bail plea.

Earlier, the Twin City Commissionerate Police arrested Abhijit Iyer in connection with case filed at Sahid Nagar Police Station over his derogatory remarks against Odisha, Konark Sun temple and State MLAs.

It is to be noted that Mitra appeared before Odisha Assembly House Committee three times and submitted affidavit over his alleged derogatory remarks against state legislators.
