Jhulan Jatra begins in Puri Srimandir with religious fervour

ONI Bureau: The swing festival (Jhulan Jatra) of Lord Jagannath has started at Puri Srimandir today.

The images of Radha and Krishna are set on a flower decorated swing in front of Lord Jagannath.  Bhagavata Purana, Geeta Gobinda, are sung before them for seven days.

Jhulan Jatra starts on Ekadasi in the monsoon month of Shravan and concludes on Purnima (full moon dy of Shravan).
