Lakhs of devotees witness Trinity’s Suna Besha today

ONI Bureau:  Lakhs of devotees today turned up to witness the suna besha (golden attire) of Lord Balabhadra, Lord Jagannath and Devi Subhadra at Jagannath Dham in Puri.

Seated in their respective chariots – Nandighosh, Taladhwaj and Debadalan – the trinities were decorated with various types of gold ornaments by the servitors. The ornamentation ritual of the deities commenced at 5 pm and devotees will be able to witness the suna besha till 11 pm today.

The total weight of ornaments is more than one quintal reportedly.

Hundreds of armed security personnel were present to ensure the ritual took place smoothly.
