Lawyers stage cease-work agitation over permanent HC bench in Western Odisha

ONI Bureau: Lawyers of Western Odisha launched a week-long cease-work agitation from today till February 24 demanding a permanent High Court bench in the region.

Western Odisha Lawyers’ Association including lawyers of all Western Odisha districts staged dharna in front of the court at Sambalpur Kacheri Road.

However, Bolangir district Bar Association have pulled out cease work agitation over demand of establishment of permanent High Court bench in Bolangir.

Though the schools, colleges, health services and business establishments have been excluded from the agitation, Courts, banks, offices of Central and State governments in western Odisha will remain closed during the agitation.
