Mamata Dalai of Kendrapara to receive ‘Jeevan Raksha Padak’ on August 15

ONI Bureau:  Kendrapara’s brave girl Mamata Dalai will receive prestigious ‘Jeevan Raksha Padak’ for showing courage in saving her elder sister Ashanti from a crocodile’s attack on April 4, 2017. She got an invitation from Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Kendrapara District Collector handed over Rs 1 lakh cheque to the brave girl.

On January 24, 2018, President Ramnath Kovind honoured 18 children including Mamata Dalai and Pankaj Mahanta from Odisha with the National Bravery Award 2017.

It is to be noted that Mamata of Bankual village under Rajanagar block in Kendrapara district had saved her elder sister from the jaws of crocodile  in a pond on April 4, 2017.
