MCL to set up Thermal Power Plant in Sundergarh District

Bhubaneswar, Oct 21: Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd (MCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Coal India Limited, will set up a thermal power plant and two units for power transmission in Sundergarh district. Animesh Nandan Sahay, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of MCL, said that a 1600 MW super thermal power plant will be set up at Basundhara area. Besides setting up thermal plant, MCL will also set up two units for power transmission. He added Mahanadi Basin Power Ltd and Nilachal Power Transmission Ltd would look after thermal power production and transmission respectively.
