Niladri Bije Row: ADJ Court grants conditional Bail to 11 Servitors

The Additional District and Sessions Judge Court, Puri on Wednesday granted conditional bail to 11 servitors, after furnishing bail bond of Rs 30,000 and two sureties.

The servitors have been directed by the court to appear before the investigating officer (IO) on every Saturday. Besides, they would not threaten witnesses nor would they commit similar offence.

Notably, the servitors were arrested by Puri police for their involvement in the brawl with District Collector and attacking the media persons during the Niladri Bije ritual of Lord Jagannath and his siblings at Puri on July 17.

The District Collector, Arvind Agrawal has lodged two FIRs with the SP Sarthak Sarangi against six servitors who had misbehaved and threatened him in a rough language while protesting the climbing of women on chariot.
