Odisha CM announces 7-day Relief for Flood-affected Districts

ONI Bureau: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced relief for seven days for people in flood-affected areas of three districts.

The CM reviewed the flood situation of 3 districts – Bhadrak, Kendrapara and Jajpur during a meeting at State Secretariat in Bhubaneswar today.

After the review, the CM announced relief for people. As per report, adults will get relief at Rs 60 per day whereas children below 12 years to receive relief at Rs 45 per day.

Similarly, State Govt will provide all veterinary medicines, including vaccines and free treatment to all domestic animals.

The State Government has asked district collectors of three districts to complete their assessment on damage due to rain and submit the damage assessment report within one week.

Reportedly, as many as 7.50 lakh people of 17 blocks along with 4 Urban bodies of 3 dist-bhadrak, jaajpur, kendrapara were worst affected due to the flood like situation.

The Regional Meteorological Centre today issued thunderstorm and moderate rainfall alert  for 12 districts – Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Khurda, Cuttack,  Puri, Nayagarh, Jagatsinghpur, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada and Koraput – till 5 PM today.
