Odisha Crosses the 2000 mark in COVID-19 cases
The total samples of COVID-19 tested positive has reached 2104 in Odisha as 156 COVID suspects have tested positive for deadly coronavirus in the last 24 hours, highest single-day spike so far said the health department.
50 cases, the highest so far, were reported from Kendrapara district. Other districts, which recorded fresh cases are Ganjam (17), Jajpur (11), Khurdha (3), Cuttack (20), Bhadrak (7), Jagatsinghpur (14), Balangir (2), Nayagarh (3), Sundergarh (3), Boudh (1), Nuapada (3), Mayurbhanj (3), Keonjhar (1), Kandhamal (9), Malkangiri (1), Sambalpur (2), Baragarh (3) and Sonepur (3).
Of the new cases, 153 have been reported from quarantine centres, and the remaining three are local contacts. The number of active cases in the state stands at 969 while 1126 persons have recovered in the state. Seven persons have so far died due to the virus.
