Odisha Government enhances Disability Monthly Pension to Rs.500

Odisha GovtBhubaneswar, Dec 22: Odisha government increased the monthly pension for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) Pensioners by Rs.200 on Monday. This move came from the government after it launched much awaited National Food Security in the state in two phases. In the first phase it covered in 14 and rest in the second phase which was launched on Monday by the state government.

As per a release issued by Odisha government here, the pension amounts of PwD Pensioners has been increased to Rs.500 from existing Rs.300 per month. PwD Pensioners having 60% & above disability were getting Rs 300/-  per month under Social Security Pension Schemes and 10 Kg rice under  Rice to Disable Persons(RDP). Henceforth, the PwD pensioners will get Rs 500/- upto 79 years and Rs. 700/- after 80 years towards their monthly pension.

The Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Social Security & Empowerment of Pensioners with Disabilities Saswat Mishra has issued instructions to all the District Collectors in this regard.
