Odisha Government gives Block Grant to 399 High Schools

Debi-MishraAs per the decision taken at the Ministerial meeting yesterday, the Odisha Government has decided to bring 399 High Schools under the purview of Block Grant. In addition, 39 Madhyama Schools (Sanskrit Toll) will also get Grant-in-Aid.

The decision was announced by School and Mass Education Minister Debi Prasad Mishra today. In total, 5,074 teachers and staff will be benefited from this announcement. 3,192 Teachers and 1,596 non-Teachers of High Schools and 286 Teachers of Sanskrit Toll (Madhyama) will get the benefits.

The government will provide 40% grant, which means it will have to spend Rs 25 crore per year towards the additional expenses.

The new changes will be effective from October 1, 2015. The Minister has sought a report from all DEOs on the status of opening of schools by Saturday. He will address them through video conferencing on Monday.

Angul (19), Balasore (38), Bargarh (20), Bhadrak (26), Balangir (16), Boudh (1), Cuttack (10), Deogarh (6), Dhenkanal (17), Gajapati (1), Ganjam (20), Jagatsinghpur (15), Jajpur (26), Jharsuguda (4), Kalahandi (11), Kendrapara (17), Keonjhar (31), Khordha (14), Koraput (1), Mayurbhanj (39), Nuapara (6), Nabarangpur (1), Nayagarh (7), Puri (24), Rayagada (2), Sambalpur (7), Sonepur (2), Sundargarh (17).

Balasore (7), Jajpur (9), Mayurbhanj (5), Puri (5), Kendrapara (2), Keonjhar (2), Cuttack (1), Balangir (1), Jagatsinghpur (1), Sonepur (1).
