Odisha Govt aims to create 4 lakh Jobs in MSME Sector by 2019

Small scale industryAfter a review meeting held with the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) department, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik directed the department to create employment opportunities for 4 lakh youth by setting up 1.5 lakh small industries by 2018-19.

The state government has provided jobs to more than 1.75 lakh youth by establishing 50,000 small industries in 2015-16.

The MSME Minister Jogendra Behera said that the department would set up 36,000 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in 2016-17. Government have planned to set up more food parks and imported Wood Based Cluster at Paradip.

The food park at Rayagada would start functioning by December, 2016 and Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (IDCO) will give 100 acres of land to set up the project, Behera added.
