Former Kandhamal MP Rudra Madhab Ray passes away

Former Kandhamal MP and Senior BJP leader Rudra Madhab Ray passed away on Tuesday morning at the age of 80. He is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.

Ray was a member of the Indian Parliament, and represented Kandhamal (Lok Sabha Constituency) on BJD ticket in 2009. He was suspended from Biju Janata Dal on 12 April 2014 for his alleged role in anti-party activities.

Ray was the Sarpanch of his native Madhyakhand Gram Panchayat in Nayagarh district  and had been elected to the Odisha Legislative Assembly for three times.

Ray was in news for the citizenship issue of Lok sabha MP Pratyusha Rajeswari Singh, the wife of late Hemendra Singh.
