Odisha govt announces 6 % increase in DA for its Employees

Odisha government today announced a 6% increase in dearness allowance (DA) for state government employees. With the latest hike, the DA for government staff has now reached 125%.

The Finance Minister Pradeep Amat informed to media person that, the hike in DA will come into force from January 1 this year while the employees will get the hike in the DA with their salary from April. The DA hike was approved by the Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

The increase has raised the rate from 119 %  to 125 %. The additional requirement of fund during 2016-17 towards the hike comes to Rs 789.72 crore, the Finance minister said.

The DA hike would benefit around 3 lakh pensioners and 4 lakh employees of state government, Finance Minister said.
