Odisha Govt declares Rs 3 lakh, Pucca House to Kin of JE Victims

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday announced Rs 3 lakh exgratia and Pucca House to each family of the children who died due to Japanese Encephalitis (JE) in Malkangiri district.

Patnaik made the announcement today during his visit to Malkangiri district to lay foundation stones of various welfare projects worth Rs 224 crore.

On the other hand, Congress and BJP called for Malkangiri Bandh today ahead of Chief Minister’s visit protesting State Government’s apathy towards tribal people and Japanese Encephalitis which claimed lives of over 130 children.

Around 32 platoons of police personnel were deployed while district boarder were sealed during CM’s visit.
