Odisha Govt Reschedules Timings of Schools Due to Heatwave

Owing to prevailing heatwave conditions, the Odisha Government rescheduled the timings of schools.

The timings of the schools have been changed for classes IX, X, XI and XII. The classes of students of Class IX and XI will be held between 7am and 9am. Similarly, the classes for students of classes X and XII have been rescheduled to 9am to 1am. The new timings will come into effect from March 1. 

The Government has also asked the District Education Officers to ensure availability of safe drinking water in all schools. DEOs have also been asked to store sufficient ORS.

On Saturday, Bhubaneswar recorded a temperature of 40.6 degrees.
