Odisha Govt sanctions Rs 63 crore for Bargarh Farmers

Bargarh Farmers agitationInsight Bureau: The State Government has sanctioned Rs 63 crore financial assistance for Bargarh farmers. Each farmer will get Rs 13,500 per hectare in case of crop gets damaged, informed by the the Bargarh MLA Debesh Acharya.

Meantime, a three member fact finding team has reached to the area to asses the situation.

Reportedly, the road blockade by the locals near Kalapani in Bargarh district ended at the wee hours after the district administration assured to provide financial assistance to the farmer’s family and promised to allot four decimal farmland, Rs 42,000 and a house under the Biju Pucca Yojana to the family of deceased farmer Brunda Sahoo.

Following the Bargarh episode, Some farmers also torched their pest-affected paddy field at Jharsuguda, Nuapada and Sambalpur districts.
