Odisha Govt to set up Teachers Recruitment Board

OdishaChief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday asked the school and mass education department to set up a Teachers Recruitment Board, while taking a review on the performance of the department.

School &Mass Education Minister Debi Prasad Mishra said, “The Chief Minister has sought a report on the proposed Teachers Recruitment Board within one month.”

“All the Gram Panchayats in Odisha now have high schools and the government is keen to set up one model school in each block of the state”, the Minister said.

As many as 39 upper primary schools were upgraded to high schools in 2015-16, while 82 other high schools were set up with assistance from the Rastriya Madhamik Sikshya Abhiyan, he added.

The direction to set up the Recruitment Board came at a time when a large number of teacher posts are remaining vacant for years across the state.
