Odisha records 4% hike in Paddy procurement in Kharif season

During the Kharif season, Odisha has recorded an increase of 4% in paddy procurement. While the target was 40.17 lakh metric tonne, 41.69 lakh metric tonne paddy has been procured.

According to reports, the paddy procurement target for the Rabi season has been set at 10.29 metric tonnes.

Under the chairmanship of chief secretary Aditya Padhi a review was held on Wednesday about the preparations for paddy procurement for Rabi season.

Mr. Padhi said media persons paddy procurement for the Rabi season will begin across 19 districts in the second week of May and continue till June 30.
