Odisha Schools to remain closed till April 26 due to Heatwave

Keeping the intense heatwave conditions in the state in mind, the Odisha Government has decided to keep all schools closed till April 26. Earlier, the government had ordered the closure of all schools till April 20.

As situation is far from normal with mercury level rising above 40 degrees C in most areas of the state, the government did not want to take any risk with the children.

The government will review the situation after 26th April. However, as the summer vacation will begin from May 1, the school children may not have to attend classes for 4/5 days if the government decided to extend the holidays further.
