Odisha’s Jayanti Behera clinches Bronze in Asian Para Games 2018

ONI Bureau:  Para athlete from Odisha Jayanti Behera clinched bronze medal in the 200-metre sprint event in Asian Para Games 2018, held in Jakarta in Indonesia.

Jayanti clocked 27.45 seconds and bagged the third position.

Last year she won silver medal in 100-meter race at the Asian Youth Para Games-2017 in Dubai.

Born in Puri’s Sakhigopal in 1999, Behera is a Track and Field Athlete who represents India in the women’s 200m, 400m, and 800m event.

Jayanti won the gold medal in 400m at the 2017 China Open Para Athletics Championship and registered the qualifying mark for the 2017 IPC World Para Athletics Championships.
