Orissa HC puts stay on disqualification of Nabarangpur Zilla Parishad chairman

ONI Bureau:  In a big relief to the ruling BJD, Orissa High Court on Monday has puts an interim stay on an order of Nabarangpur district judge on disqualification of Zilla Parishad chairman Bhagabati Bhatra.

Worth mentioning, the petitioner Baby Majhi, the zila parishad member from Nandahandi block citing violation of secrecy of ballot rule had moved court against the election of Bhagabati Bhatra.

After hearing the matter, earlier this month on Jul 10 the District & Sessions court declared that the election of BJD’s Nabarangpur Zilla Parishad chairperson invalid.
