Police beefs up security in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack for Dusherra

Police-Commissioner-OdishaBhubaneswar, Oct 17:  Security has been beefed up in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack on account of five-day long Dusherra celebration. Briefing media persons about the security arrangements in the twin city, police commissioner R P Sharma said  90 platoon of armed police, six Quick Reaction Teams, counter squad and special operation groups jawans will be deployed for the peaceful celebration of Dusherra.

Sharma said that police department is planning to install 13 CCTV cameras on idol immersion day along the routes as a part of security arrangement which will help keep a tab on all the activities, he added. He said the department will also manage the traffic movement during the festival time and idol immersion day. Sharma added around six makeshift posts would be created in Cuttack for idols immersion. Sharma said that the aim of the police department is to ensure peaceful celebration of festivals in the cities.
