Police, CRPF Jawans encounter Two Maoists in Rourkela

Dantewada-MaoistsRourkela, Nov 12:  Two Maoists were encountered by police and CRPF forces in Chandiposh forest in Sundargarh district, on Wednesday night. As per the reports, Police and forces of CRPF busted a Maoists camp on Daldali hill in the Chandiposh forest areas during combing operation.

Maoists started firing at the forces nearby their camp and security forces too retaliated to their firing. The firing lasted for several hours in the forest. In the firing, security forces succeed to encounter two dread Maoists. After the encounter is over, the offices seized weapons from the possession of dead Maoists cadres.

“We have got success in killing two Maoists. One has been identified as Sangram. He is a platoon commander,” Director General of Police K.B. Singh told the media in Bhubaneswar.

Acting on intelligence inputs, the police along with the Special Operations Group and the Central Reserve Police Force launched a combing operation the past few days in Chandiposh forest, said Singh. Security forces seized four rifles and grenades, 284 rounds of bullets and gelatin sticks.

Following this encounter and busting of a camp in the area, the police and security forces have intensified their combing operation against ultras. (with inputs from IANS)
