Raman Singh: Mahanadi unites Odisha and Chhattisgarh

Raman Singh-OdishaChhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh has slammed Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik for not showing any seriousness to resolve the Mahanadi issue and accused him of politicising the matter for political gain.

“I have come to Odisha, not as Chhattisgarh CM, but as a neighbour. It’s my duty to speak the truth and clearn all misunderstanding. Mahanadi does not divide, it unites Odisha and Chhattisgarh. If both CMs sit together, the issue would be resolved within a minute. But, it’s not happenning”, he said.

“82% of Mahanadi water goes into sea. Chhattisgarh is using only 4 % of the water. Odisha is not utilising only 13% of Mahanadi Water. The Odisha Government must answer why they have failed,” he added.

While addressing the meeting at Burda in Bolangir, Raman Singh also claimed that there is no power cut in his state, but situation in Odisha has not improved. He asked Naveen to answer why he has been unable to end power crisis in Odisha. Raman also talked about how Chhattisgarh government disburse the paddy procurement money to farmers within a day through bank transfer, while farmers in Odisha wait for weeks and months.

“If BJP comes to power in Odisha, both brothers (Odisha and Chhattisgarh) will resolve all issues immediately”, he said.
