Rs. 10 lakh assistance to be given to Women under BSKY

The Odisha governor Governor Ganeshi Lal during the first Session of the 16th Odisha Assembly today, announced the state governments’ decision to hike the healthcare assistance for women under the state’s own health scheme – Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) from Rs 7 lakh to Rs 10 lakh. “Our women will now get Rs 10 lakh for their treatment instead of Rs 7 lakh under the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana,” informed Professor Ganeshi Lal.

Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana is a scheme of the Government of Odisha, that was launched in 2018 to provide universal health coverage, with special emphasis on the health protection of economically vulnerable
families. As per government reports, 3.5 crore people have availed treatment under the scheme. BSKY also ensures free services in government hospitals up to district-level and Drop Back Assistance for pregnant women and infants.
