Ruling BJD decides to boycott OTV

ONI Bureau:  The ruling BJD today decided to boycott discussions, debate shows of OTV, informed by the spokesperson Pratap Deb on Wednesday.

As per the allegation, the BJD party & State Govt being targeted especially after MP Baijanta Panda’s suspension. The party said BJD will reconsider decision after OTV adopts impartial approach.

However, in reply to BJD’s allegations, OTV mentioned that it is committed to free, fair, unbiased reporting. Everyone is given equal opportunity to present their views. Therefor OTV appeal BJD to present its views on our impartial platform.

BJD being criticised on Social media for the ban as people saying the Govt can’t take criticism in its stride and it is a big setback for media in Odisha.

In this regard, Kendrapara MP Baijanta Panda stated that he have no role in OTV’s editorial decisions. OTV doesnot suppress anyone’s voice.
