Russian who found begging near Puri temple, sent to Embassy in Delhi

ONI Bureau:  The Puri district tourism department today sent Russian citizen Andrei Glagolev to the Russian Embassy in New Delhi, boarded Purushottam Express at Puri Railway Station.

Andrei Glagolev (53), a tourist from Russia was found begging in front of Singha Dwara of Lord Jagannath temple in Puri last month. Later, rescued and had kept at a shelter centre in Puri.

Glagolev wanted to stay in India with refugee status. For this, he had applied for refugee status and he has appointment with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in New Delhi on January 8.
