SC orders Dress Code for Sevayats at Puri Jagannath Temple

ONI Bureau:  Supreme Court on Thursday ordered dress code for Sevayats (servitors) in Puri Jagannath temple however devotees need to register their names before entering temple. In this regard a Committee will submit a report to Supreme Court within 2 weeks.

The Apex Court also appointed Amicus Curiae Gopal Subramaniam. The Amicus Curiae has asked to discuss issues with all stakeholders & submit report before next hearing on Sept 5. As per report the Amicus Curiae will visit Puri and hold discussion with all stake holders after Ratha Jatra.

Difficulties faced by visitors, exploitative practices (if any), deficiencies in management (if any) in Jagannath Temple will be posted in the website within 2 weeks.
