Sevayat arrested in Puri for stealing Devotee’s purse

ONI Bureau: A sevayat at Puri Jagannath Temple, Suar Sevak Laxmidhar Mohapatra was arrested yesterday after being caught stealing the purse of a devotee. He was later forwarded to the court.

The incident occurred when Laxmidhar stole the purse of Biswa Prakash Sahu of Jajpur’s Binjharpur while giving him Tulasi and Chandan. He later confessed to his crime.

The devotee got his purse his back along with Rs 2,500. The incident has caused widespread resentment among the devotees at Puri Jagannath Temple.
