SJTA decides the Schedules of Nabakalebara Yatra 2015

A meeting of the managing committee of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) under the chairmanship of Gajapati king Dibyasingha Deb on Wednesday decided the schedule of Nabakalebara Yatra 2015 and approved temple’s annual budget.

The Banajaga Yatra, which would leave Puri on March 29, would spend the night at Deuli Matha on April 2 and reach Maa Mangala temple in Kakatpur on the following day. Banajaga is considered the opening chapter of the Nabakalebara process.

Ghata Paribartana of Chatturdha Murti i.e. Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra and Sudarshana will be held on June 15 whereas Nabajaubana Darshan is on July 17.

The world-famous Ratha Yatra will be organised on July 18.

A budget of Rs 239 crore for the temple for 2015-16 was approved in the meeting, eying to upgrade the infrastructure of the temple, augment lodging facilities for pilgrims visiting the town and welfare of the servitors.

The meeting was attended by SJTA chief administrator SC Mohapatra and other managing committee members.
