Spate of Farmer Suicides continues unabated in Odisha

Suicide cases continue unabated in Odisha with yet two more debt-ridden farmers committed suicide in Boudh and Jajpur district on Thursday.

The deceased farmer identified as Ballav Dharei of Jallepalli village under Manmunda police station in Boudh district committed suicide by consuming poison due to crop loss and huge loan burden which he had taken for agriculture purpose.

Same incident occurred in Jajpur district today where a farmer identified as Kalinga Ghadei of Raghunathpur area has allegedly attempted suicide by consuming poison.

Earlier on Wednesday, Sudam Khatua, a resident of Raghunathpur under Pakharbada gram panchayat in Balasore district died due to crop loss.
