Teachers’ Stir: Odisha Govt to cut Salary of agitating Teachers

ONI Bureau:  With the agitation of the block grant teachers across Odisha entered 22 days today, State Government on Thursday ordered action against unauthorised absentee teachers.

Odisha School & Mass Education Department directed District Education Officers (DEOs) and Block Education Officers (BEOs) to check attendance of all teachers/junior teachers/junior teachers (Contractual) remained absent without permission or proper ground from 06.09.2018 and take necessary steps accordingly.

In case of contractual teachers, unauthorized absence could be treated as a reason for not renewing the annual contract due in next March and even prior to that, authorities may take action to disengage them after following due procedure, P.K Mohapatra, Principal Secretary, Department of School & Mass Education mentioned in a letter.
