Tension prevails in Sambalpur, Police resort to lathicharge

Sambalpur, Oct 6: Tension prevailed at Kantamali area in Sambalpur following murder of a youth on Monday night. Angry mob blocked road and set some vehicles on fire, pelted stones on police officials during protest on Sambalpur-Bargarh main road.

In order to disperse mob police resorted to lathicharge today here. It is reported that many people were injured some of the police personnel. The incident took place after a body of local boy found near a petrol pump today morning.

People suspecting the act of a ghastly murder demanded police action. According to police the deceased has been identified as Nihar Mahananda. Demanding quick action over the case, mob went on rampage during protest along the road, they burnt tyres and block the road for many hours.
