The property of Champua’s MLA Demolished

After 25 years of illegal land encroachment, Keonjhar district administration demolished the unauthorised constructions of Champua’s MLA Sanatan Mahakud at Uchabali under Barbil tehsil.

This drive was compelled to be carried out after the strict direction of the Supreme court who had ordered the district administration to evict the 5 acre forest land encroached by powerful MLA Sanatan Mahakud since 1980.

The district administration said that, while 80% of the property had been demolished yesterday, remain percentage will be demolished today.

Barbil Additional SP Dillip Kumar Sahani said the media persons that, high security and four platoons of police forces have been engaged to avoid any occurrence. Section-144 has been imposed within a 500-metre radius of the site.
