Veteran Journalist Chandrabhanu Patnaik dies at 60

ONI Bureau:  Senior journalist and former Editor of Odia daily Samaja, Chandrabhanu Patnaik breathed his last at his Bapuji Nagar residence in Bhubaneswar today. He was 60.

Reportedly, he was undergoing treatment for illness for the last few years.

He started his journalism career in the 1980s with Pragativadi.  A Post Graduate in English literature and a product of Ravenshaw College, Mr.Patnaik before venturing to journalism had joined Ekamra College, as an English lecturer at the Capital City for 7 years.

He then quit his job and returned to journalism with Sambad. Mr.Patnaik’s career in journalism spans more than 25 years in the state.

A native of Channagiri in Khurda district , Mr.Patnaik takes keen interest in the development of Odisha’s art, architecture, literature and culture.

He is the youngest Editor in the history of the oldest News Paper with 90 years of legacy.
