Youth detained in Khurda not a Maoist: Odisha Central Range IG

ONI Bureau:  After conducting an interrogation, the Central Range IG Soumendra Priyadarshi today cleared that the suspected youth detained yesterday by the Begunia Police is not a Maoist nor he has any Maoist links.

IGP also clarified that the youth is a labourer. His name is Suresh Panharia and he is a resident of Potangi village under Boden block of Nuapada district.

According to reports, the locals of Deuli area have handed over the youth to police yesterday on suspicion of having Naxal links.

Earlier today, a joint team of Odisha police and Special Operation Group (SOG) launched a search operation in Gajamundia forest near Deuli village in connection with suspected Maoist links.
