Doping Violation: Yusuf Pathan suspended till Jan 14, 2018

ONI Bureau:  Indian all-rounder Yusuf Pathan has been suspended for five months on Tuesday for a doping violation.

It is to be noted that during a domestic T20 competition on March 16, 2017, in New Delhi, his sample was tested and found to contain Terbutaline.

Reportedly Yusuf was punished with a back dated ban of 5 months on Tuesday. Those five-month period will be deemed to have started on 15 August 2017 and end at midnight on 14 January 2018 after the board is satisfied with the explanation given by Pathan that he had consumed a cough syrup which has Terbutaline in it, BCCI’s officials informed.
