HWC 2018: Australia beat England 3-0; Ireland hold China to 1-1 Draw

ONI Bureau: Australia continued to dominate the Pool B with two consecutive wins from two matches at the Hockey World Cup 2018 at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, as they defeated England 3-0 tonight. In the other match, Ireland held China to a 1-1 draw.

In the match against England, Jake Whetton (47th minute), Blake Govers (50th minute) and Corey Weyer (56th minute) scored the goals for Australia. Matthew Swann was declared ‘Player of the Match’.

In the other game, Guo Jin scored a goal in the 43rd minute. Alan Sothernne scored the equalizer for Ireland in the 44th minute. The match ended in 1-1 draw. Alan Sothen of Ireland was declared ‘Player of the Match’.
