Ishant’s Salvo leaves Sri Lanka struggle at 67/3, India smell Victory

Ishant Sharma, who almost clashed with Dhammika Prasad over the series of bouncers bowled at him, went berserk after claiming two key Sri Lankan wickets. His teammates had to calm him down. His pointer to Prasad and then the wild celebrations after taking Sri Lankan wickets, may invite trouble for him.

Chasing a victory target of 386, Sri Lanka slumped to 21/3 at one stage. However, Kaushal Silva (24*) and Angelo Mathews (22*) launched counter attacks against Umesh Yadav and Stuart Binny to gain some momentum.

At stumps on Day 4, Sri Lanka finished at 67/3. Ishant Sharma took two wickets, while Yadav took one. Sri Lanka need 319 runs on Day 5 to win the match and series. If they fail, India would win the series after a long gap of 22 years. The last time India won a Test series in Sri Lanka, was in 1993.
